DeleteI think the quote means to not follow others and be yourself. Do your own thing and you should not be a follower and you should be your own leader. If you do the same things your friend does you have to be a leader and not a follower. That is what Ralph Waldo Emerson was trying to say in his quote, and that's why so many people think this a great quote to live by because you should never follow other people you should be yourself and do your own thing and be a leader.In my personal life i hate to follow people because sometimes they are doing the wrong thing so you as a person need to stand up and be your own leader and if your friends want to follow that is there problem but always be a leader not a follower.Just be yourself and you will be a great leader in your own mind and thats all that matters.

DeleteI fully agree with what you say. Many people don't understand that you need to be a leader not a follower. It truly is a great quote to live by, if you think about this quote and then think about your life there's many things u can change. I feel people should have this mind set 24/7 and their life will be much better. In conclusion I agree with his blog.
DeleteI agree ma dude. But sometimes when you have to make a new trail, literally make that trail. I go on my quad, and make that new trail. Matt comes with me, and gets stuck in that trail. Its funny but sometimes you literally have to make a trail.

ReplyDeleteRalph Waldo Emerson once said "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” In my opinion i feel that this means instead of following other people's footsteps, you should be an outcast and make a different decisions on doing things. This may lead to better things for you and other people. I think it's okay to be different and unique this quote is very obvious to me. It makes me think how long will it take for other people to realize that sometimes following other people isn't as smart as you think it would be. Many people miss the opportunities they wish they wouldve took. This quote means a lot to me because i used to be a follower and do what other people thought was cool. Now instead of following them i'm my own person and did things and handled things a different way than they do. Its helped me out alot, thinking for myself and acting for myself is better in so many was. It could give you better opportunities. For example, if you never do your homework to be cool and basically skate by the whole school year it not going to lead to opportunities. If you did good all school year with high grades you can go to the academic bowl. It will make your future better with more success. It's okay to fail but as long as you still try that's all that matters

DeleteI think this phrase means that don't follow the crowd don’t be afraid to be different. This is the same phrase people use just re worded differently. I think this phrase also means don’t worry about anyone else and just be you. Why would you follow someone’s footsteps if they are wrong?. So make your own path to greatness. It’s just like saying don’t be the same be different. Normal is boring. No one should do the same thing and copy each other instead think outside the box. Be the best you can be. Don’t be just another follower and be and do the same thing. I like being different. I feel bad for people who are the exact same. They are not going to be none as the funny, cool, and unique people. They are going to be known as the boring, isolated, quiet people who are just another person in the room.This can relate to something in my life because I was always told I was different but when I was younger I would always copy my mom and dad. Now that I’m older I am now different and I wouldn’t want to be anyone else. I don’t want to be known for just being another person in the room. ReplyDeleteIn my personal opinion, this quote means that you shouldn’t always do something that you know will always happen. You should make a new way and try new things. I use this every day. Each day i have a different “challenge” and a different thing that I have to do. Doing it the same time every day is boring. Trying a different way is more fun and helps me learn more at it.
ReplyDeleteSometimes while going through the stuff I got to do, I get stuck. Like literally me and Matt Lugo went riding on quads, and took off into shrubbery and logs. He got stuck and it was really funny. We made a video. Grass got stuck to his quad, and he got stuck on a log. Then he hit like 25 mph and went into a pile of grass. It was probably the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in a pretty long time. When we hang out we always do something different. We go riding, ride bikes, fix stuff. Its fun, he’s like an oompa loompa. But yeah we always have to make a new trail “literally” and when we get stuck we just keep going. Kind of like in “Finding Nemo.” Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, What do we do we SWIMM. He just asked me “What are we gonna’ do today?” I said “I don’t know little oompa loompa buddy.” We are going to go riding today and make another new trail. That is what this quote means to me.

I also think it means choosing your own destiny and do what you want to do not what everyone else is doing.ralph waldo emerson's quote was one of the most powerful inspiration quote out there.this relates to me because when me and hunter went riding in his trails on quads and when i floored it instead of turning i went straight into shrubbery and a lot of logs it wasn't fun but it was funny because there was a lot of sticks and the quad that i was riding was the size of a pet chihuahua.and i kept getting caught the sticks that were under the quad.and that little tiny quad was really light and didn't have reverse so i started hopping it back so i could get a little bit of speed to get over the sticks and logs and potholes it was a pain in my butt but still it was really funny when we got to watch it over and over again. With my buddy hunter. But we always have to make new trails when it gets boring we make even more trails. And really fun when we do all the stuff we do cause we even got bikes to ride around and have fun even though my is broke and garbage then we play basketball and then go riding again.

Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." i think what this quote means is that you shouldn't do what other people want you to do, but you should do what you want to do and inspire others to follow in your footsteps. I do not have experience with this quote in particular because i haven't really done anything important with my life yet. But an example for this quote could be that if a person's mother and father want there child to get a certain job they could pressure them into doing that career. But instead of that person letting their parents pressure them they will follow there dreams and do what they want to do. We all should be able to make our own decisions and control our own life. This quote can also mean that if everyone does everything else you can go on your own path and be different and outgoing like an outstanding person and example of this could be that everyone else wants to do something or the same thing but you want to do something completely different such as be a writer singer or actor also whatever is different and not a very common job to society. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” what this quote means to me is to do what your gut is telling you to do and not what you see others doing. If you feel as if there is going to be a negative outcome of what you might be getting yourself into then turn around and be the smarter person and do the right thing. This quote can relate to a life experience I once had because one time i had to decide weather to stay in the house or go out with a group of friends and do something i was uncertain about so i just decided to stay in the house instead of going out. That one decision stopped me from getting myself into a lot of stuff that night. Therefore instead of being a follower create your own path and become the leader and have others follow you instead of you following them.

Some people choose to do the wrong thing and think its right and others do the right thing and follow the rules all the time. So if you are the person that always does the right thing you then you shouldn't follow the path of the people that do the wrong thing because you might get caught in a bad situation. So if you a the person that always does the right thing it could mess things up if you follow the wrong foot steps. Also you shouldn't always do the same thing as everyone else you should try it a different way on your own. You shouldn't try to fit in all the time because no one is the same and no one should try to be the same. Also because you should be a leader not a follower. I get told this all the time when i do something bad. My mom always says be a leader not a follower. I think that everyone is told to be a leader not a follower at least once in their life because everyone has done something wrong. Or they have followed someone instead of being a leader. I have been told this because i followed one kid and got in really big trouble because he wasn't doing good things he was doing really bad things and i followed him and it didn't end well. So in my opinion you should be a leader not a follower because you will be better off and won't get in trouble as much as you would following in others foot steps.
